Location & Services

Thanks to donations to MEF, the Learning Center (room 3134), located in The Compass Media Center, provides free academic support and tutoring to all SMMHS students (grades 6-12).

Hours

The Center is currently open Monday through Thursday until 4:00p.m.  Friday as needed.

It is possible to arrange tutoring during Directed Studies in some cases. Please contact Mrs. Hannah Patton by email patton_hannah@hcde.org to make arrangements. After-school tutoring is available from 2:45 until 4:00 pm each afternoon and there is no appointment needed.

The Learning Center remains open after school from 3:00pm until 4:00pm Monday through Thursday for tutoring beginning WEDNESDAY AUGUST 14^th. If you have a student/child that would like volunteer hours, please have them fill out this form. All tutors: After School Tutor (signupgenius.com) If your child would like to join after school tutoring, please instruct them there will not be transportation after the Learning Center closes at 4:00pm.  They are welcome to join afterschool tutoring and do not need to sign up to receive tutoring assistance.

The Learning Center also offers courses in Organization, Social Skills, and Academic Strategies thanks to Mountain Education Foundation.  If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Patton (patton_hannah@hcde.org) See information about the classes below.

Social Skills runs all year long during the lunch periods on Thursday, students will need a pass from Mrs. Patton to participate.

Organizational Skills and Academic Skills are 6 week long courses that occur during the second half of DS (10:10am – 10:58am) on Wednesday for Organizational Skills and Friday for Academic Strategies. Academic Strategies is only open for 8^th-12^th grade.
